Sew Something

Over the weekend I had the urge to pull out my sewing machine and make something.  I learned to sew when I was around 9.  My first purchase when I moved away from home was a sewing machine.  My mom took me to Sears and I bought (on credit) the best one I could afford......which was $250.  I still own that sewing machine (its out in the garage) but I have a newer computerized Viking that I use now.  I cant live without my sewing machine!  I had an idea in my head and went to my favorite fabric store to find the perfect fabric.  This is what I came up with.

I got the image from The Graphics Fairy and just LOVE it.  The ruffle is made from the lining that I removed from a vintage curtain.  I knew someday I would use it for something.

The image was printed onto a fabric transfer (that I bought at Walmart) and then ironed onto burlap.  I am pretty happy with the way it turned out.

I can’t wait to make more.  I’m thinking Easter……
